When hiring professional entertainment, there are a number of questions that you will be wanting to ask yourselves and also the entertainment companies you contact.

Budget - Most of the calls we field start off by asking the price. Would you shop for a car by asking all the prices and making a choice? Not Likely! You must take the time to learn what each company offers for  their price so you can ascertain a value of what that company is offering. A lot of people budget very little for the entertainment, yet they have more influence, time-wise, than any other professionals that you hire and are often the cheapest in salary!

Experience - Experience is the one factor that makes or breaks a Dj! Experience is what is gained either through intensive training or through working. This is the quality that tells a Dj what to play and when and what type of material or microphone manner would be inappropriate. A Dj that lacks the training of a wedding, for example, may talk and play music that would be appropriate for maybe a school but it would be very uncomfortable for the guests and may cause an early end to the function. It is essential, when you are calling people to find these things out, that you talk about the disc jockey that will be doing your function and not the trained salesman that you speak with.

Music - Music and experience go hand in hand. It is essential that the company contains a good coverage of material. Especially for a wedding where the age group often ranges from 2-80 years old and may contain ethnic flavors. A good disc jockey company will usually carry over 4000 licensed songs. Licensing means that the disc jockey is paying the Artists the proper fees and is obtaining his/her music through legal sources.

Backup - When we talk backup Hi Tech is fully backed up meaning that if our equipment fails or if an employee is made unavailable. A backup piece or person is available. This is a very crucial part of a disc jockeys commitment to quality service. The alternative to this is a "no-show" or a short night!!

Registered - Is the company registered with the Canadian Government? This will tell you quickly whether or not the company is a "fly by night" or a seasoned professional. A lot of Disc Jockey companies are unregistered and are here one year and disappear the next. Is this the kind of service you want to hire for a Wedding a year down the road? Hi Tech is registered and run in proper legal fashion.

Lighting - We offer a wide range of lighting products to accent your special evening. Alot of clients avoid lighting due to the nature of it. A good quality lighting show is inexpensive and enhances the music that your professional Dj and your guests choose. It is something you may want to consider to add a special touch to your night!

Contract - If your entertainment professional does not offer you a written contract with all aspects of your engagement covered shop elsewhere for your own protection!

Planners - Hi Tech Disc Jockey currently uses a multi-page planner with all weddings allowing the Bride & Groom to choose the format and contents of their wedding day. Once again some services do not plan the day with you.
