Toast Page
How do you do your speeches and toasts with eloquence and not put everyone to
sleep. There are many good books on this topic so please check your local
library. I am not an expert but here are some observations.
- A wedding speech is not a place to do one liners and rude jokes so leave
them for the bar
- Make speeches as short as possible but take enough time to get your point
across
- Mix in some personal stories or humour if it fits in with your comments
but avoid roasting comments
- Stand straight and try not to fidget while speaking.
- Whenever possible try to do speeches from memory or note cards but avoid
reading
- Pre-arrange any aids or props that you need during the speech
- Pre arrange speaking order with organizers so you know clearly when you
are on
- RELAX!!!
